NET/SLET not required for teaching post in Colleges: UGC exempted, who registered before July 2009

Great news … The University Grants Commission has amended its rule on faculty recruitment on Tuesday. Now National Eligibility Test (NET) or the State-Level Eligibility Test (SLET) is not require to get appointment  for Assistant Professors in college or university for those who registered or completed their  M.Phil/PhD programme before July 11, 2009.

This decision was taken on Monday by UGC commission and officially confirmed by Ministry of HRD through tweeter:

However, candidates who fulfilled the following conditions, can avail the exemption of NET :-

  • Regular mode Ph.D. and Evaluation of Ph.D. by at least two external examiners.
  • Candidate had attended open viva-voce.
  • Candidate should have 2 published paper related to their research work.
  • Candidate should have 2 presentation experiences at conferences /seminars based on their research work.
