Donald Trump is once again the new President of the United States, but as with anyone who takes up the position, his status as POTUS isn’t for everyone.
And one cruise company is taking advantage of this by offering a four-year escape from the USA for those wanting to escape.
Despite being elected to serve from the Oval Office on two occasions, 78-year-old Trump remains a controversial figure.
That has been seen in a range of major policies he has already signed since becoming President this week, including one very extreme law change within 24 hours of heading back to the White House on Monday.
A cruise to escape Trump’s America
As he now settles in to his role, which he will vacate in January 2029, one Florida-based cruising company is taking advantage of those who don’t want to be anywhere near Trump’s version of the United States.
The business, Villa Vie Residences, recently announced the launch of its Tour La Vie program.
This allows passengers to spend up to four years – the entire length of his Trump’s second presidency – visiting more than 140 countries across the globe.
One place it doesn’t visit is where Trump rules the land; the United States.
There’s actually four options, which starts with a one year cruise called an ‘Escape from Reality’ cruise.
The two year option is called the ‘Mid-Term Selection; three-year ‘Everywhere but Home’; and the full four years a ‘Skip Forward’ trip.
Why has the four year cruise been organised?
CEO Mikael Petterson told Newsweek they are not political ‘one way or the other’.
Petterson said: “We came up with this marketing campaign before we even knew who would win.
“Regardless of who would have won, you would have half of the population upset.
“Quite frankly, we don’t have a political view one way or the other.
We just wanted to give people who feel threatened to have a way to get out.”
How much does the Trump escapism trip cost?
It’s not cheap. It starts at $40,000 (£32,500) every year.
A single-occupancy cabin for four years will cost you $256,000 (£208,000). Double-occupancy is more at $320,000 for four years, which is roughly £260,000.
For that price, you get your Wi-Fi included as well as all for your food and drink. Need a doctor? It’s also included in the package too.
Your laundry will also be taken care of by staff, with your clothes washed every fortnight. Clean bedding and general housekeeping will be supplied weekly.
As for booze at sea, you can have it but only with your evening meals.
