You might think Disney’s Frozen is all innocence, magic and child-friendly fun, but star Kristen Bell has revealed an X-rated innuendo that managed to make its way into the much-loved movie.
If the fact that it’s 2025 in two months wasn’t enough to horrify you, then just wait until you hear that Frozen was released more than a decade ago.
The beloved Disney musical arrived in 2013, with Bell in the role of Anna while Idina Menzel starred as her sister and the ice-queen, Elsa.

The movie proved to be a hit when it was released and stands at 89 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, with its success coming in large part to the fact it was packed with banger after banger.
I think it’s probably safe to say that everyone knows the words to ‘Let It Go’ by this point, but it was actually another track that Bell drew attention to when she sat down for an interview with Vanity Fair which was released yesterday (October 16).
In a clip shared on TikTok, Bell could be seen watching a clip of her character running around the animated castle while singing the song ‘For the First Time in Forever’.

She joined in with the lyrics as Anna sang ‘For years I’ve roamed these empty halls / Why have a ballroom with no balls?’
It’s an innocent enough question on the surface, but Bell made clear that the writers did have a more explicit meaning in mind when they came up with the lyrics.
You see, with only sisters Anna and Elsa living in the castle at that point, there really weren’t any balls – of any variety.
Commenting on the hidden meaning of the song, Bell said to Vanity Fair: “How did we get that joke in there? Come on.”
“We slid it under the radar,” she continued. “It almost didn’t make it in. But then we were like, ‘What are you talking about? That’s not what it means. Don’t be a perv’.”

It seems the naivety and persuasion techniques paid off, as people have now been singing those lyrics for years without hesitation.
Explicit jokes aside, Bell said she had ‘always dreamed’ of being involved in a Disney animation, adding: “They’re so formidable in your life when you’re young and I was obsessed with them.
“I remember sitting in my living room and on my little old boombox, like, recording myself singing ‘The Little Mermaid’ in case I ever needed that tape.”
Bell went on to say she was ‘thrilled’ when the opportunity to star in Frozen came up, and she helped create Anna to be the kind of character she personally ‘really needed to see when [she] was 11 years old’.
“I want her to wake up with drool in her mouth. I want her to snore. I want her to talk too much and too fast and wear her heart on her sleeve and trip over things,” Bell said.
“The real quirk for a girl who is lovable but not as put together, and thankfully this whole experience was really collaborative. Some of those things they wrote in, and others they didn’t and they let me kind of take the reins.”
Frozen 3 has been confirmed and is set to be released in 2027, though it’s currently unclear who will be starring in the new flick.
