The first trailer has dropped for season two of Severance.
The show is arguably now Apple TV+’s biggest, with a massive investment reportedly being made into the second season.
Despite being an office-based dystopian drama, the second season has ballooned in costs, with the streamer reportedly having spent almost $200 million (over £150 million) on it, according to ScreenRant.
The first season released to rave reviews that undeniably marked it as one of – if not the greatest – show on TV right now.
The show has a 97 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, an average score of 8.7 on IMDb, and add to that a finale episode that ends on a shocking cliffhanger, which has earned an average score on IMDb of 9.7/10, and the show is clearly a must-watch.
Severance’s concept is both simple yet so much more than it sounds.

The show operates in a world in which workers can be implanted with a device that gives you no memory of work. You drive to work, clock in, and next thing you know – you’re out.
For anyone who has ever hated their job (not me, of course, LADbible overlords), this sounds like a perfect solution.
That is, until you think about what it actually means.
What happens to the other part of your consciousness that only exists at work?
The show goes so much deeper than that, and is widely agreed to be one of the most intriguing thriller shows on TV right now.
It has a stellar cast, lead by Adam Scott and Britt Lower, who are joined by Patricia Arquette, John Turturo, Zach Cherry, Christopher Walken, and Trammel Tillman.
Many of the episodes are directed by Ben Stiller (yes, that one).
Stiller spoke to Variety of working on season two: “It’s an interesting experience.
“I’ve never been through it before — a second season of anything. Everything I’ve done has gotten canceled back in the day.
“But, you know, I feel like there’s an expectation that the audience has — that they should have if they love something.
“For us, it’s just been the process of trying to live up to our expectation of what we think the show should be and commit to that.”
Severance season two will release January 17, 2025.
