Andrew Garfield shared story about embarrassing moment in front of ‘two of the most beautiful women in the world’

Andrew Garfield once had a moment of embarrassment at one of his first Hollywood parties, in front of some of the industry’s most beautiful A-listers.

Garfield is best known for his roles in The Amazing Spider-Man, The Social Network and Hacksaw Ridge among other massive titles, but there was once a time when he was an up-and-coming actor in the business.

So you could imagine his thrill when in 2007, he was invited to the prestigious Golden Globes party after getting a role in the film Lions for Lambs.

It was one of the British-American actor’s first celebrity parties, and he understandably enjoyed himself – maybe a bit too much.

The We Live in Time star would have been in his early twenties at the time, and has retold the story a few times of how he embarrassed himself in front of ‘the most beautiful women in the world’.

Speaking to Esquire, the actor recalled that after working with the likes of Tom Cruise and Meryl Streep on set, he felt like he ‘semi-belonged’ among the stars at the event.

Waiting in line for the toilet with many big names, he shared: “I was in line for the toilet, and Salma Hayek and Penélope Cruz were behind me, and I was like, ‘Hey, I’m making a movie, guys. I get to go to this toilet, too’.”

But in something out of a comedy movie, Garfield felt unwell after one too many drinks and had to throw up, doing so into the toilet.

He felt better afterwards, but said that it was embarrassing that he had to do it in the same room that Hayek and Cruz were about to go into – and they may even have heard him too.

Garfield probably wasn’t the only intoxicated member at the party that night, but he may have felt the most embarrassed, as he explained how he felt in the moment, during an interview with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Though he may look back and laugh now after the decorated career that he has gone on to have, but in the moment, it was less than pleasant for the star.

He described that he felt ‘anxiety, joy and alcohol’ in the moment, even remembering that he threw up blueberry pancakes made by music legend Prince, feeling ashamed after leaving the cubicle.

Describing what he felt for the actresses later, he admitted: “I’d just walked past two of the most beautiful women in the world, knowing that they were about to go pee where I had just vomited.”

It’s just a funny story to look back on now, but I guess that’s showbiz baby!
