Armie Hammer has revealed he’s been forced to sell his truck as he can no longer afford gas for it.
The actor saw his career collapse rapidly in 2021 after a number of shocking accusations were made against him. These included claims that he had allegedly engaged in physical abuse, rape, and fantasies of cannibalism.
Hammer denied the accusations and earlier this year, it was reported that charges were ultimately never filed against him.
Now, the actor has posted to Instagram to reveal to fans that he is now selling his pickup truck, as he can no longer afford to pay for the gas.
He described that the vehicle has some sentimental value, saying that he had brought his children home in it.
But now he can no longer afford to keep the gas-guzzling truck, and is switching it for something cheaper to to run.
The disgraced actor took to his Instagram page to announce that he would be selling the black pickup truck.
“I’ve been back in LA for a couple of weeks now,” he said.
“This is my truck. I bought this for myself in 2017 as a Christmas gift for myself, because I’ve had pickup trucks for a long time, and I have loved this truck intensely.”

He explained: “This is not an ad for Carmax. This is because I am selling my truck.”
Hammer went to reveal how much gas he has been getting through since moving back to LA.
He said: “Since being back in LA, I have put about four or five hundred dollars worth of gas in it, and I can’t afford it. I can’t afford the gas anymore.”
Hammer went on to say how the truck had become important to him, and he had ‘taken it camping and across country multiple times and on long road trips’.
He added: “But ya know what? That’s okay. That’s okay. I got a new car. It’s tiny. It’s a hybrid. I’m probably going to put about 10 bucks a gas in it a month and this is it.”

Hammer continued: “So I have to clean all of this stuff out you know all kinds of sh*t. But that’s okay. I will be starting my birthday in a new car in a new apartment in a new life in Los Angeles.”
The actor also reflected on the benefits of having a smaller car, saying: “Parking is gonna be easier, and gas is gonna be cheaper.”
This comes after the actor revealed that despite being ‘broke’, he’s ‘happier than ever’ in the wake of the controversy.
Featuring as a guest on the Club Random Podcast with Bill Maher earlier this year, Hammer said: “The good place only comes from walking through hell. It was a brutal experience.”
He then added: “I’ve never been happier than I’ve ever been in my entire life.”
