Awkward moment Hulk Hogan gets booed out of WWE Raw stadium during Netflix premiere

A ‘new era’ of WWE fans has emerged after Hulk Hogan was booed for making a surprise appearance during a Netflix debut.

Last night (January 6), Hulk Hogan appeared at Intuitive Dome in Inglewood in Los Angeles for the opening night of Netflix’s Monday Night Raw.

However, the 71-year-old veteran WWE wrestler – real name Terry Bollea – ended up being met with a less than positive response when he entered the stadium.

Hogan entered the arena to his walkout song ‘Real American,’ wearing a tank top promoting his Real American beer brand.

Despite being met with a sea of boos, Hogan ploughed on anyway: “Well let me tell you something, you know something, maniacs, I’ve been in this business for over 40 years, and the greatest part of my life was being part of the great WWE, guys.”

Despite the boos erupting from the crowds, Hogan thanked his ‘fans’ for being his ‘greatest tag team partner’ who’ve ‘stuck with [him] through thick and thin’ – awks.

He continued: “[…] In the past, I’ve had a whole bunch of partners down the line. I had incredible partners, like the Macho Man Randy Savage. I’ve had giant-sized partners like Andre the Giant. But the greatest partner the WWE has ever had, is the fact that tonight, we’re making history, and the WWE has tag teamed up with Netflix, the greatest tag team partner of all time.”

And response to Hogan’s appearance at the event hasn’t been received in any more of a positive way on social media either.

Public Enemies Podcast shared a clip to Twitter, captioning the post: “Watching Hulk Hogan get booed out of a building filled with 18k people restored my faith in humanity.”

“Highlight of my night. They didn’t wanna hear s**t he had to say and neither did I,” another user added.

A third commented: “Best part of the show.”

“I’ll never say anything bad about LA again. I love the West Coast. They boo’d the living shit outta Hulk Hogan. It’s like music,” a fourth wrote.

And a fifth added: “It’s a new era indeed. Thank you WWE fans, I was wrong about you.”

The disdain towards Hogan follows a video of him repeatedly using a racial slur being made public in 2007, leading him to be axed from WWE’s Hall of Fame in 2015 – although three years later he was reinstated.

Hogan has also since become a support of President-elect Donald Trump, which has only swayed the tide further against him.

UNILAD has contacted Hulk Hogan’s representatives for comment.
