Baby Driver star dies age 16 after falling from a moving vehicle

A young, up-and-coming actor has died in a freak accident.

Hudson Joseph Meek, who has over a dozen TV and movie credits to his name, fell from a moving vehicle on Thursday (December 19) and died two days later from his injuries.

Meek, who was just 16 years old, is said to have suffered blunt force injuries after dropping from a 1900 block of Canyon Road in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.

The Vestavia Hills Police Department is currently investigating the ordeal and how Meek ended up losing his life.

As per Meek’s IMD page, the late actor starred the likes of Baby Driver, The School Duel, Legacies, and Found, and had rubbed shoulders with the likes of Mark-Paul Gosselar and Kate Bosworth.

The young actor’s tragic passing was announced on social media on Saturday.

Part of the Instagram post read: “Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight. His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”

A celebration of Meek’s life is set to take place a week on from his untimely death on December 28.

An obituary has been releases that shared light on the 16-year-old’s life, what he was like, and is acting career.

“Hudson’s personality was one of a kind,” the moving statement read.

“He was confident, convicted in his beliefs, spontaneous, and quick-witted. He never let the facts get in the way of a funny story, and he loved friendly banter.

“He was a prankster, loved a good joke, and was happiest when he was making others laugh. Hudson thrived in settings that allowed him to meet and serve new people. Hudson was a vibrant and dynamic person who lived life to the fullest.”

It went on to say of his work: “Hudson was also an accomplished actor. He worked on several major motion pictures and television shows, some of which will be released in 2025.

“He absolutely loved spending time on set and having the chance to learn the names and stories of every member of the cast and crew.”

The obituary also explained that the teenager was a registered organ donor and this ‘his family is comforted by knowing that he will continue to help others for years to come’.
