Bizarre ‘space debris’ falls on village leaving people terrified it could be the ‘end of the world’

bizarre space debris falls on village end of world

A massive metal ring fell out of the sky onto a village in Kenya and the inhabitants are terrified about what it means.

When two metres of partially charred metal fell from the sky, the locals of Mukuku in Makueni county were shocked to say the least.

The metal ring, which weighed approximately 1102lbs, landed with an incredible bang on December 30.

Between Nairobi and Mombada, the location was unharmed in the incident, with no buildings or people being hit by the metal.

But those who saw it didn’t know what to make of the object and were worried about what it meant for their wellbeing. It even sparked some wild theories from locals ranging from the impending end of the world to companies sending things down from the sky.

Could it be UFOs? Well, not quite.

According to Kenya’s Space Agency, it might be the separation ring of a launch rocket and not a little green man in a saucer.

The statement read: “Such objects are usually designed to burn up as they re-enter the Earth’s atmosphere or to fall over unoccupied areas, such as the oceans.”

While it’s likely to be an ‘isolated case’, it’s not the first time part of a rocket has fallen back to Earth.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX Dragon capsule actually had a part fall off into an Australian sheep farm in 2022.

The Kenya Space Agency in collaboration with a multi-agency team, local authorities, and even security personnel retrieved the debris and secured the area following the incident.

Now, the strange ring is under KSA’s custody, and they will be carrying out an investigation into exactly what it is.

As they believe it’s a separation ring, it could make sense as to why it fell off.

It’s essentially designed to burn up upon re-entering the Earth’s atmosphere or fall off over areas like oceans.

KSA went on to tell the public that the ring didn’t post an immediate threat to the villagers or anyone else in the country and now experts are trying to find out who owns the part.

After the information is found out, the agency vowed to share the findings with everyone.

One witness who was there that day told the Tuko news website: “I was going about my day when we heard this loud bang that we could not decipher. The metallic object then fell and made another sound, frightening us.”

Another said to the outlet: “I heard what I thought was an explosion when it landed here! Du! du! du! I asked, ‘Is the world ending today?’.

“I was shocked because it was so sunny with no hint of rain. I hope our leaders will tell us what this object was and why it fell here.”

A third said: “As a community, we are really worried. What if this fell in the homestead of one of us?

“Are there companies up there in the sky that made this thing fall on us? We really need answers.”

It’s pretty spooky to say the least that something like that could just fall out of the sky, but thankfully there seems to be a plausible explanation for it.
