Blake Lively has broken her social media silence for the first time since filing a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni in order to address the wildfires currently tearing through Los Angeles.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced as the most destructive wildfire ever seen in Los Angeles County continues to burn, resulting in the deaths of at least five people and the destruction of at least 1,000 structures.
More than 17,000 acres have been consumed by the fire with zero containment, and dozens of celebrities are among those who have lost houses as the devastation continues.
California Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency in the area and issued an executive order to help support those affected by the fires, saying: “We are putting all available resources behind fighting these wildfires, including leveraging local and federal assets.
“California has thousands of boots on the ground working to combat these fires.”
In a bid to help share resource information, Lively took to her Instagram story for the first time in weeks to share a post directed towards ‘everyone affected by the Los Angeles fires’.
Lively’s post included a Google Docs link to a spreadsheet created by Mutual Aid LA Network (MALAN), which is being updated live with ‘countless resources’ for those in need, including details about where to find shelter, board animals and find key information about the fires.
In a follow-up post, she added: “MALAN is regularly updating this Google sheet with mutual aid resources for folks in LA. There’s info on shelters, free PPE, food, animal rescues, and more. If you have additional resources, please share them with @mutualaidla.”
Lively is the latest celebrity to speak out about the fires, while Adam Brody, Paris Hilton and Mandy Moore are among those who have lost their homes in the blazes.
Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul has a sole post on his Instagram profile to acknowledge the devastation, writing: “Absolutly [sic] devastated to see everything on fire.
“To all of my friends who have lost their homes during this tragedy I am so sorry.
“My heart aches for all of the kids who can no longer go to school because there’s no schools to go to. It’s all so heartbreaking. Thank you to all of the brave men and women fighting these fires. We are lucky to have you. Stay safe everyone.”
Paris Hilton also issued a statement after witnessing the destruction of her Malibu home on TV, writing that she was ‘heartbroken beyond words’.
Lively’s post marks the first time she’s posted on social media since filing a lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, who she has accused of ‘unprofessional, and sexually inappropriate behavior’ during their time on set.
Baldoni has denied the allegations against him.
