Couple come out unscathed after car rolls into river ‘while having sex’

A couple found themselves in the midst of a very expensive rendezvous when they accidentally put their car into drive while ‘getting busy’.

This is why people should listen when they’re told to ‘get a room’. It’s not just about keeping things private; it’s also to avoid disasters like this one.

The unfortunate incident unfolded in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia on Wednesday (August 29), when authorities were called to the scene in relation to a 2020 Range Rover which had rolled into the water.

The car was found in the Schuylkill River at about 4.27am local time, prompting dive crews to enter the water to try and recover the vehicle.

According to police, the car ended up in the water after a couple parked off the road along Kelly Drive.

After pulling up, the couple allegedly proceeded to ‘get busy’ in the parked car – but it didn’t stay parked for long as the couple kicked things up a gear. And I don’t just mean metaphorically.

Speaking to NBC10, a police representative claimed the couple’s antics led to them accidentally knocking the car’s gearstick out of park, and into drive.

The car then started rolling towards the water, though both individuals were thankfully able to escape the Range Rover before it was completely submerged.

They were both unharmed by the incident, officials added, though police have not provided any further information on their identities.

Police then began to work on getting the car out of the water, with crews still at work at 6.30am on Wednesday morning as early morning rowers floated past.

The car was finally pulled from the water at around 9am.

No charges have been placed against the couple as a result of their disastrous romp.

Though the story might make for a good anecdote in a game of ‘never have I ever’, it’s not the first time a car has plunged into the Schuylkill River.

Just a couple of weeks ago, police were left baffled after another car was found submerged in the water after it reversed from Kelly Drive.

A witness told Fox29 they saw the car ‘slam on its breaks’ before driving backwards into the river, but when police located the black BMW there was no one inside the vehicle.

All four doors of the car were locked, though one of the windows was open and the back windshield of the car was shattered when it was found.
