An attempted insurance fraud was thwarted after the assailants unknowingly targeted a car with dashcam footage.
TikTok user @ashpianatasha4 posted her ordeal after driving in Queens, New York on October 16.
She shared that she believes it was an insurance fraud attempt on her, and you’ll find out why it appeared that way.
The one-minute clip shows the moment a car takes action to ensure they would be compensated.
Ashpia wrote in the caption: “I was driving in the left lane of the Belt Parkway going East bound towards the Southern State Parkway.
“The silver Honda (LBB 8917) was in the middle lane, and they cut me off and slammed on the brakes coming to a full stop hoping I would hit them.”
The woman went on to share that although she managed to brake in time and ‘did not hit their car’, the people in the Honda then took action.

They can be seen on the dashcam footage reversing into her car, and acting as though they are injured as two men and two women excited the vehicle.
You can see one man holding the side of his head and another woman holding her jaw as she films Ashpia’s licence plate.
The woman added: “I believe the intention was to say I hit their car for insurance fraud purposes. They had a tarp covering the rear windshield, which fell off once they hit my car.”
She went on to explain that the male driver passed over to the passenger seat while in the car, before getting out after the two women and man pretended to be injured.
He then ‘slips out through the passenger seat and gets into a second vehicle’ which Ashpia noted is a ‘red KIA SUV (KJH 3340) which was following me from behind and keeping distance so they wouldn’t slam into me.’

The remaining three people’s demeanor changed once one of them noticed the dashcam. They only came out of the car with their phones ready to record the damage to both cars. They were quick to ask for my insurance and quickly left after the exchange. I called the police at the time of the incident and reported it as an accident, and the police told me they no longer go to an accident if no one is injured and they are willing to exchange information. She claims that the red car picked up the driver and left the scene, while the other three continued the charade.
However, viewers and Ashpia clocked the exact moment the remaining man noticed she had installed a dashcam.
In the clip, you can see the three people coming closer to the car, and the man appears to be saying something as he approaches further, but sees the camera in the window and immediately turns back towards the other woman and speaks to one woman, off to the side.
She said that after the incident, ‘they were quick to ask for my insurance and quickly left after the exchange’.
After being reversed into, she called the police and ‘reported it as an accident’. However, the police stated that they ‘no longer go to an accident if no one is injured and they are willing to exchange information’.
That’s when she shared that she was not initially aware that it was a fraud attempt, as it ‘happened so quickly’.

Looking back on the footage, it was certainly eyebrow-raising, with viewers adding their own thoughts as to what really went on.
One person said: “And why did they all immediately take pictures of YOUR car?!”
Another replied: “Because they don’t care. they’re just trying to fake a worse accident for the insurance money. that’s why he looked panicked when he realized there was a dash cam.”
Someone else wrote: “Him getting out holding his head and then realizing there’s a dash cam is cooking me.”
