Disney fans have just realized who Nala’s dad from Lion King really is and it’s blown their minds

disney nalas real dad

Disney fans have just realized who Nala’s father in The Lion King really is.

Sure, there are hundreds of movie theories floating about on the internet – but hear me out: this one is pretty convincing.

We already know that Disney love to tease eagle-eyed viewers by including sneaky Easter eggs across its universe.

For example, I’m still reeling after Frozen’s director revealed the identity of Anna and Elsa’s secret brother.

Elsewhere, people have figured out that Andy’s mom from Toy Story is the star of another hit franchise – while others reckon the film is also linked to A Bug’s Life, Turning Red and Monster’s Inc.

But one viewer thinks he’s worked out who Nala’s dad in the 1994 animated film really is.

Ivan Mars, a self-described ‘movie detective,’ shared his theory to social media – complete with receipts from the original movie itself.

“We know Simba is the son of Mufasa and Sarabi and at the end of the movie, he falls in love with Nala, his childhood friend,” Ivan begins. “But wait, we also know Nala’s mother is Sarafina. So I was wondering, who’s her father…”

He goes on to share his discovery, explaining: “According to animal experts, in every pride there are only two male lions breeding with the female lions of the same pride…

“And since we know the only male lions of the Pride Lands are Mufasa and Scar, this means Nala is actually Scar’s daughter!”

At this point, I personally wasn’t totally sold on the theory.

But, Ivan continues: “It makes even more sense when you realise they are the only lions with green and yellow eyes…How did I miss this?”

The eye color detail is the sort of clue Disney would include for their most observant viewers to spot…

But not everyone is as mind-blown as I am.

Responding to Ivan’s Facebook reel, one person complained: “Incorrect. Scar was outcast, therefore not a member of the tribe.”

A second insisted: “Nala literally has yellow and BLUE eyes … same as her mother.”

And some reckoned her dad is actually Mufasa, not Scar, as one person explained: “Nala and Simba are actually half siblings…Which is totally normal in the animal kingdom.”

In fact, last year’s Mufasa movie confirmed that he was adopted into the Pride Land after being orphaned – meaning Scar simply cannot be his biological brother.

Even so, Nala could still be Scar’s daughter then, right? I’d like to believe so…
