Elon Musk drags Taylor Swift into controversy after he was accused of giving ‘Nazi salute’ at Trump rally

Elon Musk has tried to drag Taylor Swift into his controversy after he was accused of giving a ‘Nazi salute’ during the President’s inauguration.

It’s been quite the week for the Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder who has found himself in the center of the spotlight in the aftermath of Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony on Monday (January 20).

As Trump took his oath to office as the 47th president of the United States, allegations about Musk’s behavior during the ceremony went viral.

The billionaire was slammed on social media after people said he appeared to make a ‘Nazi salute‘ in the Capitol One Arena, Washington, before the Inauguration Day parade.

In the moment, the 53-year-old was apparently excited by the idea of sending a man to Mars with the American flag, during which the Twitter owner thumped his chest and shot his arm out – not once but twice.

While the Anti-Defamation League jumped to Musk’s defense, writing that it was an ‘awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm’, the tech mogul himself said critics need ‘better dirty tricks’ and that ‘the ‘everyone is Hitler’ attack is sooo tired.’

The father-of-12 also took shots at Wikipedia co-founders, Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger, after the page on Musk included an update on the incident.

He also snapped back to US Congresswoman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who said his arm movement was a ‘Heil Hitler salute that was performed and repeated for emphasis and clarity’. Musk said she had ‘lost her marbles.’

Meanwhile, some Tesla owners have vowed to separate themselves from the company out of ’embarrassment’.

Now, however, Musk doesn’t seem to be letting up on the matter and is now allegedly attempting to drag Taylor Swift down with him.

He retweeted two doctored images of the pop superstar with her right arm raised in an apparent comparison or joke that Swift has done a similar gesture that could be interpreted as a ‘Nazi salute’.

One Tweet with the image had the caption: “My god. Not her too,” while the second read: “Does this mean Swifties = Hitler youth?” with an image of the Swift next to an image of Hitler.

But users on Reddit have slammed Musk again, claiming the picture is a screenshot of Swift blowing a kiss to crowds after a performance in New York in 2014 – and that the image has been flipped to ‘the correct arm’ used by the Nazis.

Fans have raced to the discussion with dozens calling on the ‘Love Story’ hitmaker to sue him.

“This is the one time I’m gonna actually say this, but Swifties… This is your f****** moment to shine. Rise up on this fool! I’m sat,” another joked, “UNLEASH THEM! I want them in their most rabid form on this.”

Others said Musk has an ‘obsession’ with the 35-year-old and continue to criticize him for failing to issue a full explanation beyond retweets ‘with emojis’.

“Elon Musk is such a weirdo,” another wrote, “If he has no haters I’m dead.”

Since the debacle, the only Tweet Musk has posted on the matter reads: “The radical leftists are really upset that they had to take time out of their busy day praising Hamas to call me a Nazi.”
