Fans spot heartwarming moment between Jenna Ortega and Winona Ryder as they posed for photographers

Jenna Ortega and Winona Ryder aren’t beating the mother-daughter allegations.

The pair have recently teamed up for Tim Burton’s highly-anticipated sequel to Beetlejuice, titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (one can only fear what would happen if there was a third film), and have commenced their press run for the flick.

In the sequel, Ortega and Ryder play a mother and daughter, with Ryder evidently reprising her role as Lydia Deetz and Ortega playing her daughter Astrid. The film follows the Deetz family as they return to their home in Winter River after an unexpected tragedy. But when someone accidentally says Beetlejuice’s (Michael Keaton) name three times, the friendly, familiar foe returns with a whole new brand of chaos to unleash.

While the film is slated for a September release, it had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival today and fans are losing it over a heartwarming moment Ryder and Ortega shared while posing for photographers during a photocall at the event.

In livestream footage from the photocall, Ortega and Ryder can be seen smiling and posing before some photographers started loudly asking Ryder to take off the sunglasses she was wearing.

Ryder then appears to be a little frazzled and unsure of what to do, so she turns to Ortega who seemingly says, “No you don’t have to,” reassuring her on-screen mom and continuing to pose for photos — looking especially chic in those glasses might I add.

Fans online seem to be losing it over the moment, with many praising Ortega for reminding Ryder that it’s okay to have boundaries.

One user on Twitter wrote, “There’s something very comforting about the younger generation encouraging the older generation (who were raised to please & say yes) to maintain their boundaries no matter what.”

“Kinda sad that a veteran actor feels like they have to follow orders from photographers but kudos to younger gen for empowering them,” another wrote.

“I’ve seen so many interviews where Winona is gushing about how amazing Jenna is, this warms my heart so much,” said another user.

Ryder previously described finding immense fame again after Stranger Things as ‘overwhelming,’ telling Marie Claire in 2017: “It’s so overwhelming. I don’t know what it’s like for really famous people…I keep hearing that people are dressing up like me [her character on the show, Joyce Byers]. I’m like, ‘What?'”

She went on to address the break she took from acting in the early to mid 2000s saying, “I did take time off. It was mutual, I think. I just went through a tough time.”

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice releases in theaters on September 6.
