Harry Potter fans urged to watch Philosopher’s Stone from exactly 22:32 tonight

harry potter xmas eve

You might have all sorts of traditions lined up this Christmas Eve to usher in the big day, but an increasingly popular one among folks is to start a movie or TV show at just the right time.

If you’ve somehow dodged ITV’s typical marathon of Harry Potter films in the run-up to Christmas then you might fancy spending the build-up to your last sleep before Christmas Day doing something specific.

Namely, watching Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and starting your viewing at 10:32pm tonight.

You’d better hope your DVD player or streaming platform of choice (this movie is on Netflix, in case you were wondering) doesn’t let you down, because according to a fan on TikTok you can rack up your own Merry Christmas message from the wizarding world.

In a clip she explained that if you start the movie precisely one second before the clock ticks over to 10:33pm then Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) and Ron (Rupert Grint) will wish each other a happy Christmas at midnight on the dot.

In the clip shared by an eager fan on TikTok it was revealed what would happen by starting Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone at exactly 10:32:59 pm on Christmas Eve.

Following the precise time stamps, it seems as though Ron will wish Harry a ‘Happy Christmas’ at exactly midnight for your viewing pleasure, and just generally for your festive spirit.

Can you think of a better way to start the big day?

Fans in the comments were happy about the revelation, one said: “Not all heroes wear capes!! Thank you.”

Another fan, who had planned their Christmas Eve already, said: “Let’s do this on our Christmas sleepover!”

A third, who is clearly a Potterhead, added: “Well I know what I shall be doing on Christmas Eve!”

Philosopher’s Stone has some of the most lavish Christmas scenes in the movie series and really establishes what being a wizard at Christmas is all about.

It’s also where we see the Weasley family start to really include Harry in their traditions as he gets a Christmas jumper just like the rest of them.

With a Harry Potter TV series in the works and promising to show even more stuff from the books which didn’t make it to the movies there might soon be space for further challenges around wizarding Christmas.

Who knows when you’ll have to start watching an episode to get to this bit in the show?
