Influencer thrown out of gym after worker claimed her outfit was ’embarrassing’ and ‘revealed too much’

A fitness influencer claims she was thrown out of a gym after a worker claimed her outfit was ’embarrassing’ and ‘revealed too much’.

Jessica Freitas said she was approached by an individual who worked in the gym just minutes into her usual workout routine.

The 33-year-old claims the employee dubbed her attire as ’embarrassing’, adding that she wasn’t even give the chance to defend herself and discuss the matter.

The influencer believes she was being discriminated against, claiming there were ‘other women in the gym who were dressed the same as me but weren’t subjected to the same restrictions.’

“It’s like they were waiting for me to do something that goes against the rules,” the Brazilian influencer added.

Freitas said her outfit consisted of tight pink shorts and a black sports top, and that she was not filming or recording in the gym found in her home city of São Paulo.

Freitas told What’s The Jam: “I wasn’t naked or anything like that.

“I only went to train as I feel most comfortable.

“There were other girls there training in shorts and bra tops like me and they weren’t told to leave.”

The influencer went on to claim the gym workers were ‘on the lookout for any little thing’, which would explain why they approached her and kicked her out of the fitness centre.

Such behavior in the gym made Freitas feel ‘watched and pressured’ as she tried to perform her usual workout routine.

The influencer even dubbed the gym employees as ‘people from the last century’ and ‘malicious, false moralists’.

Freitas compared the incident to a woman being kicked off a beach for wearing a bikini.

She added: “This incident has damaged my image.

“It’s not like I was looking to show off or provoke anyone.”

Amid all the noise, the influencer upload a defiant Instagram post recently where she showed off her curves in her ‘controversial’ outfit with the message.

Telling her fans on the social media platform on 27 October, Freitas said: “Complain all you want, it doesn’t pay my bills.”

Things have progressed since that defiant Instagram post, however, with the influencer saying she received a call from the gym on Monday (28 October).

And it appears this situation has come to a pleasant conclusion, with the two parties managing to ‘resolve the matter amicably’.

Freitas has said she will ‘happily return’ to the gym again.
