There are many ways to get freaky in the bedroom and often people like to take things to the extreme. Whether we like to admit it or not – we’ve all got our kinks.
OK, that’s painting me out as a sexual deviant – trust me, I’m not… I’m rather beige – not that I’m kink-shaming.
The best way to discover what you and your partner’s fetishes is to simply just talk about it – although I’m not sure this specific turn-on will come to mind.
Yes, ‘millions of women’ are supposedly into one bedroom kink in particular – and after learning about it, I’m sure many of you will want to incorporate it into the bedroom.
Fetishes vary from the relatively innocuous all the way to those that require an entire warehouse’s worth of specialist equipment.
Some kinks and fetishes even go beyond the bedroom and can become a fundamental part of someone’s life, with whole communities forming around them… you know what I mean.
The turn-on that we’re referring to that ‘millions of women’ are into is perfect for all my beige brothers out there – a ‘praise kink’.
What is a praise kink?
It basically does what it says on the tin, a praise kink is when someone gets turned on by receiving compliments and praise.
So yeah, I think I’m going to take this one on – wouldn’t it be nice to hear how smart, funny and hard-working you are while you’re… never mind.
After seeing the kink go viral online many were in agreement, with one social media user saying: “I can assure you that most romance book girls would likely have this kink!”
While another wrote: “I told him. He does it more now. Best day ever!”
However, apparently this particular ‘perversion’, if you could call it that, is well-known.
One user added: “Well well well, the vanilla community is just finding out about small kinks that the kinky community has known all along.”
In a video on TikTok, expert Dr Nicole K. McNichols explained: “People who have praise kinks get turned on by their partner complimenting them.
“Praise kink exists on a continuum of course, because, I mean, who doesn’t love being told that they’re beautiful or hot or amazing in some way?”
@nicole_thesexprofessor How to tell if you have a praise kink – and ways to enjoy it if you do!! 😉🔥 #ForYou
So, while it could just be compliments, it could also be affirming someone. For example, using phrases like ‘you’re doing a great job’, ‘you’re so good at that’, and ‘you’re doing great, I’m so proud of you’.
The idea is that it helps someone to feel safe and appreciated in their relationship.
It’s not clear why people develop a praise kink in particular as it could be due to any number of reasons.
But now you know and, as always, remember communication is key!
