Joe Biden was left looking a bit deflated after a brief exchange with his successor’s son.
The former president, 82, officially passed the baton to Donald Trump yesterday (20 January) and handed over the keys to the White House.
Biden watched his political rival get sworn in as the 47th President of the USA in Washington, in a ceremony attended by tech titans, celebrities, Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The Trump family turned out in force to show their support and the baby of the bunch, Barron, managed to get a moment in the spotlight too.
While addressing the crowd at the Capitol One Arena, Trump applauded his ‘very tall son‘ for coming up with the successful strategy of going on Joe Rogan‘s podcast to win over young voters.
“He knew the youth vote,” Trump said. “We won the youth vote by 36 points. And he was saying, ‘Dad, you got to go out and do this one and that one.'”
The new leader of the nation – who had an awkward moment with his wife Melania at his inauguration – made a string of big announcements on stage.
But it’s remarks made by his youngest child which have sparked a discussion online, as Barron had quite the strange exchange with Biden.
The 18-year-old, who is studying at New York University, was seen shaking hands with the outgoing leader and his Vice President Kamala Harris after his dad was sworn in.
Footage appears to show Barron and Biden grinning at one another as they lock hands, however, the 82-year-old’s expression dramatically changed a few seconds later.
The cheery look on Biden’s face vanished after Trump’s son appeared to lean towards him and utter a few words.
Whatever Barron said – which currently remains a mystery – it didn’t seem to make the former President very happy.
The Democrat’s big grin quickly fell after the 6ft 7ins teenager made the mystery comment, so inevitably, this has sparked a ton of speculation on social media.
People are desperate to find out what the pair were chinwagging about in the footage which has gone viral.
One person said: “Where is the lip reading lady???”
Another wrote: “Not sure what he said but wiped the smirk right off his face.”

And a fifth chimed in: “I don’t know what he said, but I bet I want it on a shirt.”
Others suggested that Barron might have actually been leaning towards Harris instead, rather than dropping a serious diss in Biden’s earhole.
