Mike Tyson and Jake Paul surprised boxing fans when cameras caught them in each other’s company at the inauguration of Donald Trump.

Cast your mind back just a few months, and you might remember how Paul and Tyson were at each other’s throats in the run-up to their highly anticipated boxing match.

Paul described his opponent at the time as an ‘angry little elf’, even claiming at one point he had ‘got to die’ – and he wasn’t the only one talking a big game.

For his part, Tyson claimed he was ‘going to slaughter’ Paul when the two faced off.

When the fight finally went ahead on November 15, it was Paul who took the win in a unanimous decision – something that might have left boxing legend Tyson feeling a little sore.

But fast-forward to January 20, and the pair actually seemed to be in good spirits when they reunited at the inaugural ball marking Trump’s return to the Oval Office.

Paul took to Twitter to share a video of himself and Tyson not just hanging out, but actually messing around like old pals.

In the clip, Paul can be seen putting his head between’s Tyson’s legs in order to lift him up on his shoulders, leaving Tyson cheering with his fist in the air.

The two boxers grinned as onlookers caught the moment on camera, and Paul shared the clip with the caption: “BEST FRIENDS.”

The description is a stark contrast to how Paul was describing Tyson just a few months ago, so it’s no surprise that fans have been left shocked at the sight.

“I kind of love this!” one viewer wrote, as another commented: “Now this is something I can get behind. Have fun be safe.”

“Ha ha. That’s amazing. Great to see the unity,” wrote a third.

One Twitter user added: “Honestly, this is probably a pretty cool friendship. I like it.”

Paul and Tyson’s fight was made up of eight two-minute rounds, instead of the usual three-minute rounds, and saw each boxer equipped with 14-ounce gloves.

The event was streamed live on Netflix, after which the streaming service reported that 108 million viewers had tuned in to watch, making the bout the ‘most streamed sporting event in history’.

A total of 72,300 people attended the event live in Arlington, Texas, and streaming peaked at 65 million concurrent streams around the world, with 38 million concurrent streams in the United States, Netflix reported.
