Wrestling fans have been loving a blast from the past where a fan met her idol in 2001 and rather a lot has happened since then.
There’s footage of wrestling star Lita, real name Amy Christine Dumas, meeting a fan called April Jeanette Mendez from 2001 and it’s your usual fare of someone finally meeting a person they’ve idolised in the flesh.
There are tears, hugging and plenty of emotion to go along with signing some memorabilia.
By the end of it the young fan says ‘oh my God, thank you so much’ and is trying to hold back the tears of meeting Lita.
Fast forward a few years and that same fan ended up starting her own professional wrestling career before signing on with WWE in 2009 as Diva wrestling star AJ Lee.

The two had no idea of knowing it at the time but the fan Lita was meeting would go on to become a multiple champion herself.
Wrestling fans watching the moment marvelled at home AJ Lee went from Lita superfan to ‘one of the best in WWE’ herself.
Another said it was ‘truly inspiring’ as ‘one day you’ll be in the place of the people you looked up to’.
Others said the moment was ‘flippin adorable’ and that ‘WWE has so many of these full circle moments it’s crazy’.
WWE might have many of those moments but it’s a sport full of storylines and occasionally some very weird connections are going to be made.

Funnily enough, a wrestling career isn’t the only thing these two would end up sharing years on from that meeting in 2001.
Both ended up in a relationship with wrestler CM Punk, real name Phillip Jack Brooks – at different times, of course – with AJ Lee going on to marry him.
A bunch of wrestlers have been in relationships with each other over the years and in 2009 after she’d retired Lita got together with CM Punk, they’d have an on-off relationship until 2013 before calling time on things for good.
A year later he was tying the knot with wrestler AJ Lee, with the couple having dated for only a few months before the big day.
They’d actually been an on-screen couple before they got together in real-life, as there was a 2012 wrestling storyline where they kissed on TV.
Since this is wrestling she also pushed him through a table in that scene, but that’s what you sign up to when you get into wrestling and it makes for a good story to show to people.
