School of Rock child actors announce they are officially married 22 years after film’s release

school of rock kids marry each other

Cast members from The School of Rock movie that came out 22 years ago have tied the knot, bringing the infamous band back together.

The comedy film directed by Richard Linklater and starring Jack Black hit the movie theatres in October 2003 to critical acclaim, and became the highest-grossing music-themed comedy of all time until Pitch Perfect 2 pinched the top spot more than a decade later in 2015.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, the plot follows down-on-his-luck guitarist Dewey Finn, played by Black, who ends up impersonating his roommate in taking on a substitute teacher role at a private elementary school for money after being booted out of his band.

Dewey, known by his pupils as Mr. S, realizes his class excel in music and devises a plan for them to form a band to take on Battle of the Bands in which all the students take on various roles.

His hilarious lessons saw the students learn all about hard rock and its history, with students completing homework tasks to listen to rock albums and hone their performances.

Now grownups, the classmates have apparently reunited for a heartwarming cause as two of the child actors tied the knot.

Caitlin Hale, 33, and Angelo Massagli, 33, who starred as Marta – dubbed ‘Blondie’ in the film on the lead and backing vocals in the band – and Frankie – who Mr S assigned as the ‘tough guy’ in security – got married more than 20 years after meeting as children.

Rivkah Reyes, who played the bassist Katie in the movie, has been one of the first of the cast to celebrate the union, posting a glimpse of the ceremony in a TikTok a video to the tune of Stevie Nicks’ ‘Edge of Seventeen’ – a song that is relevant in the School of Rock movie.

The footage captures several of the school’s ‘alumni’, like Brian Falduto (who plays ‘Fancy Pants’, the band stylist), Joey Gaydos Jr (Zack ‘Zack-attack’ Mooneyham, lead guitar), Robert Tsai (‘Mr Cool’ on the keyboard), Maryam Hassan (Tomika ‘Turkey Sub’ on lead and backing vocals), Aleisha Allen (Alicia ‘Brace Face’ on lead and backing vocals) and Cole Hawkins (Leonard ‘Short Stop’ on security).

Rivikah captured the video: “Celebrating the marriage of Caitlin and Angelo with my forever fam #schoolofrock #wedding”.

Brian Falduto also shared behind the scenes snaps of the team posing for pics in a photobooth on Instagram, writing: “A ‘School of Rock’ wedding. Congrats Cait & Ang! Love this fam so much.”

Caitlin and Angelo met as children while filming the movie in 2002, though he told Inside Edition in 2021 that he recalls the exact moment he met Caitlin and was instantly impressed.

He said: “I remember my first audition for School of Rock like it was yesterday. I get in there and the little blonde girl next to me, she gets called in first and she starts singing show tunes and just blows the roof off the place. It was excellent.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, the pair stayed in touch in a group chat with their co-stars long after the film.

While both have since left Hollywood life behind – with Caitlin working as an OB-GYN ultrasound technologist and Angelo having graduated from the University of Miami School of Law – the pair ignited a romantic spark in adulthood many years later.

They met up in Florida and officially started dating in 2016 before a flash of an engagement ring was hinted in an Instagram post last October.
