Spencer Pratt calls out podcaster for ‘ignoring requests’ to play wife Heidi Montag’s song

Spencer Pratt has slammed a podcaster for allegedly ‘ignoring’ his pleas to play his wife’s song.

The Hills alums, Pratt and his wife Heidi Montag, are among the thousands who lost their homes to the devastating Los Angeles wildfires earlier this month.

The inferno tore through their Pacific Palisades, California, house on January 7, which the 41-year-old said he ‘watched’ burn to ashes from his CCTV cameras.

Since then, the celeb has been flooding social media with updates about the situation – and has seen his popularity and following ‘explode’ as a result, with both new fans and old rallying around the Hollywood couple.

And it’s not just Pratt’s TikTok following that has seen significant growth. Montag’s debut album, Superficial, and its lead single, ‘I’ll Do It’, raced to the top of the iTunes chart, despite its flop when it first came out in 2010.

Dozens, including Perez Hilton, Flavor Flav, and Emily Ratajkowski, have been promoting the album as a way to help the couple raise some much-needed funds towards rebuilding their lives.

However, according to Pratt, not everyone has been on board with the initiative.

Speaking to Bethenney Frankel on TikTok Live on Saturday, Pratt said podcaster Alex Cooper was on his ‘hit list’ for allegedly snubbing his requests to promote the song.

The father-of-two said he contacted the ‘Call Me Daddy’ podcaster, 30, and her husband, Matt Kaplan, 40, with his requests to mention the song on her popular show.

Pratt explained: “I asked her to post the song, and I texted her husband and I was like, ‘Hey, it would really help’… I kept tagging her, messaging.

“And then she wrote to me: ‘We have a lot of people displaced at our house’.

“And I’m like, ‘post the song, girl’.”

He claimed Cooper was ‘the only one’ who didn’t share the song from the people he contacted and pledged he now has ‘beef’ with her.

“Respectfully, if I keep my platform, and I keep being an A-list, rich celebrity, she’s so f***** cause I have beef with her now. Like, she’s going to be targeted”, he said.

The comment stunned Frankel, who simply said ‘wow’ before asking him ‘how big is your hit list?’ to which Pratt said Cooper sits ‘at the top’.

“It’s only Alex Cooper”, he added.

During the Live appearance, Pratt did have some praise reserved for Cooper’s ex co-host, Sofia Franklyn, 32, for airing the song on her podcast, ‘Sofia with an F’.

He continued: “Now I ride with Sofia with an F. That’s my team now. Sofia with an F posted the song, did a dance.”

Pratt appeared in Cooper’s podcast in June 2022, but it seems he might not be so inclined nowadays.

Pratt previously leapt to the defense of Mandy Moore amid backlash that she was promoting a fundraiser for her family – and later faced criticism himself after friends launched a GoFundMe for his family, which has raised more than $138,000 at the time of writing.

Pratt said the couple are far from rich, as he said to US weekly: “Nobody thought we were rich celebrities until three days ago and it’s getting frustrating. Like if you Google ‘Spencer,’ it literally [says] ‘Broke, no net worth’.”

In another interview with Variety, he said TikTok has become a lucrative avenue as fans donated $20,000 to him directly which he said was ‘phenomenal’ and ‘life-changing’.

Pratt has also stated he intends on suing the State of California over alleged negligence with the fires.

UNILAD has contacted Alex Cooper’s representatives for comment.
