You expect a theme park to terrify and delight, but one ride at Warner Bros World left me in an absolute state, with quite an extreme reaction.
If you’re going to a theme park, there is nothing more disappointing than rides that don’t raise your blood pressure at least a little bit.
I mean, they are called ‘thrill rides’ for a reason, not ‘mild-enjoyment rides’.
Thankfully, I got to have an exhilarating experience on a trip, courtesy of Travel Republic, to Warner Bros World on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Yas Island is quite the entertainment getaway, and even includes Ferrari World – the world’s first Ferrari-branded theme park.

But while that theme park had some brilliant roller coasters, it was in the Warner Bros World theme park that I found a ride so intense it shook me to the core.
In fact, there were times where I thought I would either pass out or throw up – which is a massive deal, since I have never passed out in my life, and have a stomach made of pure iron and a determination to never throw up.
So, what is the ride?
Well, you’ll have to go through to the Gotham section of the theme park, and once you get there, you just follow the terrified screams until you reach the Scarecrow Scare Raid ride.
Pretty fitting name, considering how awesomely thrilling the ride is.
It begins simple enough: you get strapped in for a sort of flight experience, with multiple arms raising you and lowering you… but then things get serious.
Your seat then seems to get a mind of its own and starts to spin, barrel role, all while still going up and down. Check it out below:
Thankfully, my innards remained….inside, but the adrenaline rush led me straight back to the queue after the ride and I proceeded to scream for a second time.
The ride has a reputation of being Scarecrow’s ‘scariest, most intense psychological experiment yet’, and for a wonderful change, the hype is completely justified.
If you do find yourself on Yas Island, of all the attractions at Warner Bros World, I can’t recommend this one enough – if you think you can handle it, that is.

While abroad, I stayed at the at the five-star Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island hotel, and I was able to go to multiple attractions close by, including Ferrari World and Yas Waterworld – but that was for another day.
To close out the evening, I had a quick dip in the pool, quick steam in the spa, and settled in for a well-earned buffet dinner. Not a bad ending to day filled with thrill-induced fear.
Then, with a full belly from the variety of food available from all over the world, I could rest easy lying back in bed with no fear I was going to go spinning around and upside down… unless I ended up having some very wild and chaotic dreams, let’s hope I didn’t bring any of that fear toxin home with me.
