People are losing their minds after seeing what happens to your food while it’s cooking in an air fryer.
While you can usually see your food cooking in kitchen appliances like microwaves or ovens, what goes on inside an air fryer has always been more mysterious.
In most models of air fryers, you can’t see what’s happening in the drawer after you pop your food in. But in recent months, Ninja released its CRISPi – a portable, glass air fryer.
And with its new design comes new experiences, and it’s safe to say that watching the CRISPi is just that.
In a now-viral video shared to TikTok in recent days, a person documented the moment their air fryer worked its magic.
Describing the whole thing as ‘super invasive’, TikToker Ali filmed her food erratically spinning round in circles – and it could only be compared to the viral news story of when a woman was rescued on a hill by a helicopter, for her stretcher to spin out of control.
Please note that no spring rolls were hurt in the making of the video.
Ali’s video has since been viewed over nine million times, and people’s reactions to the clip have been hilarious.
“No way my food is just in the break dancing,” one person said.

“Somehow I’m pretty sure my 1.5kg pork roast ain’t spinning like a ballerina in mine,” quipped another.
Echoing my sentiments of how it made me think of the woman being saved by a helicopter, a different person added: “This reminds me of that video of the woman getting rescued via helicopter and she was just spinning out of control.”
Others have insisted that their air fryers aren’t like this though, suggesting that the so-called breakdancing food might be unique to Ninja’s CRISPi.
“Mean my air fryer has a viewing window and it most definitely isnt Raygun-ing its way to tastiness,” someone joked, while referencing Olympic star, Rachael Gunn.
“Nah I open mine and everything’s in the same spot,” said someone else.
Ninja’s official TikTok account has responded to the clip, and it insisted that the CRISPi is simply ‘magic’.
In light of people being so bamboozled by Ali’s first clip, she’s been urged to do more videos of different foods in the air fryer.
One request was for a piece of bread with shredded cheese on top.
The heavier item of food was more hardy to the air fryer’s powers, however, and the bread was just blown upwards instead of giving figure skater Michelle Kwan a run for her money.
