A McDonald’s worker has revealed exactly why the McFlurry machine always seems to be out of order.
There’s nothing more infuriating than craving a McFlurry, only to turn up to your local Maccies branch and them tell you the machine isn’t working.
And it can’t be a coincidence that’s it’s happened to pretty much everyone who loves to treat themselves to a McDonald’s every now and then.
Well, a McDonald’s worker has finally revealed the real reason why the machine always seems to be out of order.
Kenya Humphries, a member of staff at McDonald’s, often takes to TikTok to divulge what it’s really like behind the scenes.
In a recent video, she answered the question that everyone is dying to know.
And it turns out there’s a pretty simple answer.
In a clip addressing the matter of the McFlurry machine, she said: “It’s just getting cleaned.
“It’s genuinely getting cleaned, or it’s been used that many times that it’s broken.”

Kenya said that the staff at her branch pick a day in the week when it will be out of order, so that they can clean it properly.
She noted that there were rumours that staff turn the machine off if it’s a particularly busy day. But she denied staff ever doing that where she works.
She also addressed other questions that viewers were perplexed by – one being why breakfast is only served until 11am.
Because let’s face it, on those hungover days, we really need one mid-day at the earliest.
Well, Kenya explained that an all-day breakfast just simply wouldn’t work.
She said: “Otherwise we’ll be cooking breakfast at the same time as we’ll be putting beef down. It just doesn’t work.”
But she did note that if there were any breakfast items left over and people in the queue wanted them, she would rather serve them just after 11am than waste the food.
Fans also asked her why it always seems to take a very long time to get served at a drive-thru, and there’s a pretty good explanation.
Kenya revealed that it can often take a long time, as the people taking orders are often doing others jobs too – such as making drinks.
She added: “The customer is priority though, so they should be answering within the first five seconds.”
Multi-tasking is hard at the best of times, so we can only imagine the chaos that goes on behind the desk in McDonalds!
