Walmart is selling tiny 20-foot home for just $15,900

How much space do you really need to live? If it’s around 19-by-20 feet, then Walmart has got the house for you.

There are a lot of people who are willing to pay the big bucks for the luxury of stretching out in their home; having the space to entertain guests, play with pets, and collect various ornaments and decorations to make the place their own.

But not everyone needs all that space – and more importantly, not everyone can afford it.

So instead, people are starting to adapt to smaller living spaces, and Walmart is helping to fulfil that need.

Walmart is selling the tiny home for under $16,000 (Walmart)

The store now has a whole section on its website dedicated to ‘Tiny Home Kits’, and one of the structures it’s now listing is described as an ‘Exquisitely Designed Modern Villa’ suitable for living and working.

The house will set you back $15,900 when purchased online, and offers all the key amenities most people are looking for in a house.

According to the listing, the house has an open-plan layout consisting of a bedroom, living room, kitchen and dining room, as well as a washroom separated by walls on one side of the home.

It measures 19-by-20 feet and is 8.3 feet high, meaning there’s a suitable amount of room for furniture, and maybe even a pet or two.

Walmart does note that the house might not be the best place in extreme weather conditions such as tornados, hurricanes or floods – but that’s the case even with some bigger houses, and this one doesn’t require anywhere near as big a mortgage.

Obviously, purchasing a home from Walmart does require you having access to some land to put it on, and I can’t imagine many people’s parents would be too happy to hear that their kid was finally moving out, only to learn it was to a tiny home situated in their own back yard.

But if you have the land, the home is certainly a quirky way to get on the property ladder.

Tiny homes have become increasingly more popular, as social media users have taken to TikTok to share their experiences of them.

One man showed off a 19-feet-by-20-feet prefabricated home he purchased on Amazon at the slightly higher cost of $20,000.

TikTok users have shared their thoughts on the idea of tiny homes on another video discussing the concept, with one writing: “I think it’s a good idea especially if you put 2 of those together on a peice [sic] of land heck yeah.”

Another added: “Sign me up! This is brilliant.”
