It’s only the second proper week and I’m already dreading it being over.
No, not the new year, something much more important – The Traitors, obviously.
Plenty of us have already made the BBC show being back our personality and that means obsessing over the behind-the-scenes, coming up with theories and seeing what the contestants are saying once they’re banished.
And for those of us really digging in, it’s about the analysis of why this year’s Traitors are twice more likely to win than the Faithful are.
I know, I know, the show is so unpredictable and it can be hard to figure out just what the f**k is going to happen next but history does prove these odds.
Yahoo! Entertainment broke down how previous seasons point to this year’s winner.
That does mean we’re going to be diving into series of The Traitors from all over the world, so if you’ve been planning on binging those spoiler-free, you may want to scroll pretty quickly through some of this.
Crunching the numbers
Over the years, there has been more than 50 versions of the iconic series globally and most of the time, those sneaky Traitors win (yes, you read that right, there’s been more than 50 series of it).
They’ve won once out of the two completed UK seasons, contributing to a whopping 31 wins in total.
And this is quite the bashing, as it means the Faithful have won only 17 times.
There have been some peculiar outcomes though, like in the first ever series of the show in the Netherlands when a Faithful and a Traitor became so close they actually agreed to split the winnings. But I’m not going to lie, I’d be pretty disappointed to watch that – I need the drama.
Whereas in another rare outcome, things really did get dramatic.
Three Traitors made it to the final of the Aussie version, but they all chose to steal, meaning no one won the money at all.
Ouch.
But despite those unique endings, the stats mean the Traitors are basically twice more likely to win this year’s UK series than the Faithful are.
And while I’m already dreading it coming to an end later this month, we should soon have the special celebrity version to look forward to with the reported line-up having been leaked.
