A woman has explained the many benefits she has found after quitting vaping a month ago, saying it’s the ‘best thing’ she’s ever done.
TikToker Jess Baker-Smith told her social media followers just how addicted she was and opened up recently ditching the habit.
Not just the physical benefits either, but the mental health ones as well.
While some of them are pretty straightforward others are quite surprising, especially if you don’t vape.

Clearer skin
In the video – captioned ‘quit the vapes gals best thing I’ve ever done’ – Jess said: “It goes without saying, my skin. OK, to a lot of people it’s probably not totally clear but here is what it looked like a month ago.”
She then proceeded to show two old photos of herself with visible spots on the side of her face.
The TikToker continued: “What I didn’t know and I wish I had known sooner is that nicotine actually really impacts your hormones.
“I’ve got PCOS [polycystic ovary syndrome] and it was really affecting my hormonal acne so cutting out nicotine altogether means that my skin is just so much healthier than it’s ever been and I am so happy.”

Improved mental health
“Secondly, I want to say my mental health. Now I vaped from anxiety and I thought it was helping my anxiety but actually it was doing the complete opposite.
“I have now realized that whilst I was vaping I had crippling anxiety and I have done some research and it shows the correlation between ADHD and vaping is that it makes you more anxious.”
Jess then decided to stop doing her makeup during the video and admitted that she was so excited about the results.
She then continued to list some of the benefits she experienced and how it had ultimately positively impacted her overall well-being.
Better sleep
Jess said: “My sleep. I cannot express this enough. Like my sleep is better than it’s ever been and I am finally back to Jess.
“I feel like for a year and a half I lost myself, I was always in a foul mood, I was always just really anxious about everything and it is because I wasn’t getting enough sleep.
“The reason I wasn’t getting enough sleep is my body was craving nicotine in the middle of the night so kept waking me up and I kept vaping to send me back to sleep.”

Extra income
Jess went on to say her bank balance was a lot better off now she no longer vapes as the habit can quickly get quite expensive.
She explained she was spending £10 (about $13) on two vapes a day, so around £70 a week, ($91), so you can understand how quickly this can increase your outgoings each month.
The TikToker ended the video by admitting the last benefit was a little ‘silly’ but said vapers will know all about it.
Jess said: “I don’t have to worry about having a vape on me.
“You have to have a vape on you then you have to have a backup vape on you, then you have to know if you are going anywhere where you won’t be able to vape, then it’s like vaping in the toilets.”
She concluded that she simply now had more freedom and was definitely happy with her choice.
